ISP NPP NAS OF UKRAINE SUPPORTS CHORNOBYL NPP IN POST-STRIKE ASSESSMENT OF THE NSC
The Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ISP NPP NASU) continues to support SSE Chornobyl NPP in conducting engineering and radiological assessments of the New Safe Confinement (NSC) following the Russian drone strike on February 14, 2025.
Using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unique instruments developed at ISP NPP NASU, up-to-date data on gamma dose rates in the areas of damage to the NSC outer cladding have been obtained. This information, together with video footage documenting the structural condition of the NSC, will form the basis for technical condition analysis and the development of repair solutions for the NSC arch.
