Shelter object 30 years after the accident
The monograph presents the causes of the accident at Chornobyl NPP, activities of primary importance on its elimination, the results of studies to determine the location and amount of fuel-containing materials and their physicochemical peculiarities. The characteristics of the radioactive aerosol are considered as well as formation mechanisms and migration routes of liquid radioactive waste. The peculiarities of the implementation of SIP projects are described, as well as a strategy for the further transformation of the Shelter object into an ecologically safe system.
