The publishing house “Akademperiodyka” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine published the monograph “Comprehensive radioecological monitoring for objects of radioactively contaminated areas” as part of the “Ukrainian scientific book in English” publishing project. The authors of the book are B. S. Prister, T. D. Lev, A. V. Nosovskyi and M. M. Talerko, the scientists of the Institute for Safety Problems of NPP of the NAS of Ukraine. The book consists of 286 pages.

The principles of forming an optimal network of radioecological monitoring of contaminated territories for acute and remote periods after a radiation accident are outlined, which takes into account the ecological features of the territory. A comprehensive system for assessing the degree of radioecological criticality of the territory, forecasting the radiation situation, monitoring the agrosphere and radiation quality control of products on different spatial scales has been developed.
The developed methodology can be used as part of the emergency preparedness system (forming an optimal network of radioecological monitoring, as well as planning and optimization of countermeasures) and the emergency response system for emergency situations (which allows prompt forecasting of the consequences of an accident at its various stages). The book is intended for specialists in the field of radioecology, environmental protection, radiation and environmental safety.
