INUDECO. Nuclear energy: the challenges of war

       The conference will be held on April 27-28, 2023

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

     On April 27-28, 2023, the Eighth International Conference “Problems of decommissioning of nuclear energy facilities and environmental restoration” INUDECO 2023 will be held online in the city of Slavutych. The topic is “INUDECO. Nuclear energy: the challenges of war”

     The conference has been held in the city of Slavutych since 2016 as part of the events dedicated to the anniversary of the Chornobyl accident.

      More than 800 scientists and professionals from 20 countries of the world took part in the conference held in Slavutych, a satellite city of the Chornobyl NPP. Representatives of about 50 institutions take part in the event every year.

          Discussion Questions:

  • nuclear generation in conditions of post-war recovery;
  • nuclear and radiation safety of the country;
  • handling of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel;
  • implementation of the project to transform the “Shelter” facility into an environmentally safe system;
  • operation, maintenance and repair of nuclear power plants under martial law;
  • decommissioning of nuclear power plants;
  • development and social challenges of atomic citys at the current stage.

      Conference organizers: Executive Committee of Slavutych City Council, Vyshhorod District, Kyiv Region; Regional Development Agency of Slavutych city; State Specialized Enterprise «Chornobyl NPP»;  Institute of Nuclear Power Plant Safety Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; SS «AtomRemontService» of State Enterprise «National Nuclear Energy Generating Company «Energoatom», State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management; Institute of Problems of Mathematical Machines and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Slavutych branch of the National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI named after Igor Sikorsky», NGO «Ukrainian Nuclear Society».

     The INUDECO organizing committee call on the participants of the conference to analyze the experience of the war in Ukraine, to draw strong conclusions about the manifestation of nuclear terrorism, the actions of international organizations, and to develop recommendations for the operation of nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities in conditions of war.

     Understanding the full responsibility and consequences of a reckless attack on nuclear facilities of Ukraine, the INUDECO organizing committee holds the annual conference as an open online discussion and invites everyone who cares about this topic to speak.

     Official languages ​​of the Conference: Ukrainian, English.  Slides and abstracts of the reports are optional, but slides, if available, should be in English.

     The Organizing Committee plans to publish the electronic collection, so those who want to publish the article please, provide your articles in accordance with the requirements by June 15, 2023 to the e-mail inudeco2018@gmail.com.

     Due to the situation created by the war in Ukraine, INUDECO 2023 will be held in an online format of open discussion using the zoom resource.  The Organizing Committee determines the order and sequence of participants’ speeches and will send the participation confirmation and electronic invitation by 16:00 on April 26, 2023.

     The organizational fee for participation in the conference is EUR 150. All funds collected thanks to the participants of the conference will be directed to humanitarian purposes.
