Organizational meeting for PREADES Project in Paris
On January 18-19, 2018, at the headquarters of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), based in Paris, there was held an organizational meeting for the preparatory study on analysis of fuel debris in destroyed units of Fukushima-1 within the framework of the PreADES project.
The PreADES project was proposed by the Nuclear Regulation Authority of Japan (NRA) and the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).
Also a two-day workshop was held at the OECD on January 22-23, dedicated to studying the current state of work activities on decommissioning at the Fukushima-1 NPP, as well as the progress of the NEA projects (Atomic Energy Agency under the OECD), on elimination of the consequences of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. At this meeting, there was approved a program of joint research in the field of fuel characterization and agreed to conduct the first-rate research activities on its analysis by the experts who participating in the project.
In accordance with the Memorandum signed between JAEA and ІSP NPP, experts from the Institute took part in the meetings.
