Participation in Conferece on the «Preparatory Study on Аnalysis of Fuel Debris» Project
From the 4th to the 6th of July 2018 in Tokyo (Japan) the second conference on PreADES project (Preparatory Study on Аnalysis of Fuel Debris) was held as to the preparation of research for fuel containing materials analysis in the Fukushima Daiichi NPP damaged blocks. The project was initiated by Japanese Nuclear Regulatory Administration (NRA) and Japanese Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).
Project management is implemented by the Agency for Atomic Energy in the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD NEA).
Leading scientific centers from Japan, the USA, Canada, France, Korea, Sweden, Switzerland participated at the conference.
Participants approved the collective research program for fuel containing materials characterization in the Fukushima Daiichi NPP damaged blocks. The decision to lead the future research works was made by countries-participants of the project.
In accordance with the Memorandum that was signed by the JAEA and the ISP NPP, the conference was attended by members of our institute.
