A meeting of the Interdepartmental Expert Working Group
On June 26, 2018, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Expert Working Group on “Critical Infrastructure Protection and Ensuring the Interaction of National/State Security and Crisis Response Systems” was held at the National Institute for Strategic Studies (see http://www.niss.gov.ua/articles/3085). The event was attended by representatives of the NNEGC “Energoatom”, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, ministries, central authorities and specialized research institutions. The purpose of the event was to consider the issues of coordination of actions and cooperation between the subjects of critical infrastructure protection in the context of responding to complex accidents and crises.
During the discussion the senior researcher of the Institute for Nuclear Power Safety Problems, PhD. I.V. Zhyganiuk raised the point of assigning the New Safe Confinement for the Shelter Object а critical infrastructure object status. In the discussion, the participants of the meeting concluded that it is necessary to study this issue further.
