The Safety Problems of the Nuclear Power. The Lessons of Chernobyl
The problems of nuclear safety as a complex system are reviewed. It is shown that the reliability and safety of a nuclear power plant determined especially strict compliance with the priorities of the Security over the economic, political and other factors. Failure to observe this principle has become a real cause of severe accident, accompanied by the release of radionuclides into the environment. The lessons of Chernobyl remain unlearned, what confirmed the accident at the Fukushima-1 in Japan. The second edition includes an analysis of the radio-ecological aspects of four accidents. The most important of lesson is the readiness to respond.
