Meeting of the scientific and analytical section of the UkrNS

     On May 11, 2023, a regular meeting of the scientific and analytical section of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society was held, in which representatives of the Institute for Safety Problems of NPP of the NAS of Ukraine, the National Scientific Center “Kharkiv Physical and Technical Institute”, the Khmelnytskyi NPP, the Institute of Nuclear Research of the NAS of Ukraine, Odesa National Polytechnic University, State Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, public organization “Union of Veterans of Atomic Energy and Industry of Ukraine”, Vinnytsia National Technical University, Sumy State University.

      Within the framework of the meeting, the head of the section, the head of the laboratory of the Institute for Safety Problems of the NPP of the NAS of Ukraine, Dr. Tech. Sc. Kostiantyn Simeyko presented an annotated report on the work of the section for the first quarter of 2023 and talked about further plans of activity.

      Among the directions of the section’s work were participation in international grant programs, conducting the final of scientific projects in the field of nuclear science, atomic energy and industry “Atomic innovators”, preparation of scientific articles and analytical publications, as well as development of the analytical report “Atomic power energy in conditions of military aggression of the Russian Federation”.

      Maksym Kremen, a member of the board of the SO “UkrNS”, head of the Union of Veterans of Atomic Energy and Industry of Ukraine, made a proposal to prepare materials summarizing the experience of commissioning new NPP power units, taking into account the plans for the construction of new nuclear power plants in Ukraine.

      Employees of the Institute for Safety Problems of NPP also took an active part in the session of the section – head of the department, Dr. Tech. Sc. Volodymyr Borysenko, head of the sector Anatolii Doroshenko, head of the Council of Young Scientists, junior researcher Serhii Kupriianchuk.
