All-Ukrainian Competition of Essays from Ukrainian Nuclear Society and NNEGC “ENERGOATOM”
On September 27, Kyiv. The final activities on the annual All-Ukrainian Competition of Essays “Developement of Ukrainian nuclear energy” for the high school students were conducted by the Ukrainian Nuclear Society together with NNEGC “Energoatom” in order to attract the best representatives of Ukrainian youth to study in core institutions of higher education and further work at the nuclear power plants. Director of the Institute for Safety Problems, corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine, prof. Anatoly Nosovskiy served in a jury for hearing the final competitioners’ reports, their evaluation and rewarding the winners.
Resulted in a competition the winner was a student of Yuzhnoukrainsk professional lyceum Nadiya Volokhova with essay “Tashlyk Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant as a Guarantor of Environmental Stability in Region” which not only demonstrated the technological advantages of completion at the Tashlyk PSHPP but also successfully using demonstrative base polemized with representatives of public organizations that protested against the PSHPP.
The second and third prize places were taken by students from Varash – Alexander Gavrilov and Anatoly Basanets. Graduates and prizes for the originality and depth of the topic’s disclosure were received by pupils from Slavutych and Slavutych Region – Mykola Levin, Oleksiy Stanovy and Oksana Stetsyuk.
