Analysis of the Causes and Consequences of the Accident at the Fukushima NPP as a Factor for Prevention of Severe Accidents in Tank-Type Reactors
The monograph presents a preliminary analysis of the causes and consequences of severe accidents at the Fukushima NPP. The analysis of the possibility of occurrence of extreme events associated with flooding of the industrial site of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the occurrence of steam-gas explosions at the NPP with the WWER reactors and other phenomena that occurred in severe accidents was carried out.
It is presented original authors’ developments on symptom-oriented approaches for identification of lists of initial events of severe accidents, substantiation of explosion safety criteria and optimization of process management in severe accidents, as well as on methodical management of non-project accidents on WWER reactors to prevent their transition to the severe accident stages.
The book is intended for scientific workers and specialists in the field of nuclear energy, as well as for postgraduate and undergraduate students of energy specialties.
