Institute for Safety Problems of NPP, NAS of Ukraine participated in the International Forum «Innovation market»
On November 21 the II International Forum «Innovation Market» was opened at the International Exhibition Center of Kyiv in a solemn atmosphere. On special demonstration spaces arranged in the area that covered several thousand square meters, Ukrainian and foreign enterprises and organizations demonstrated their innovative developments.
21–24 November within the framework of the International Forum «Innovation Market» there took place the Sino-Ukrainian scientific exhibition of technologies and innovations. That event was timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ukraine. More than 80 leading scientific institutions and manufacturing companies of the People’s Republic of China were represented at the exhibition.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine Mr. Du Wei, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Li Meng, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and Deputy Minister of Education Maxim Striha attended this event and cut the ribbon at the solemn opening of the ceremony.
«The People’s Republic of China is one of our strategic partners in the field of scientific and innovation cooperation. Last year the second meeting of the Sub-Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Governments of Ukraine and the People’s Republic of China was held in Kyiv, where 10 projects for joint financing were selected. Now they are successfully implemented. And we hope that due to our interaction within the forum there will be new positions on the cooperation of scientists from Ukraine and China», – pointed Maxim Striha.
Li Meng, China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, also noted, that it is very important to deepen the cooperation at the country level. In particular, it was a question concerning joint laboratories and enterprises, the exchange of scientists, technoparks of high-tech production, studying the experience of innovations at enterprises, etc. It was emphasized that the «Innovation Market», in which scientists from Ukraine and China involved, is an excellent opportunity for skilled developers to exchange ideas and start joint projects.
Institute for safety problems of NPP, NAS of Ukraine participates in the exhibition as a co-founder of the Sino-Ukrainian Joint Venture «Sino-Ukrainian Academy Xianchu on Decommissioning of NPP» together with the private Chinese company Qingdao Xianchu Energy Development Group Company and the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS). A joint Sino-Ukrainian enterprise demonstrates samples of radiation-resistant robotics and technologies for the rehabilitation of the radioactive-contaminated territories at the exhibition.
Sino-Ukrainian Academy Xianchu at the opening of the exhibition were represented by the director of ISP NPP, corr. member NAS of Ukraine, prof. Anatoly Nosovskiy, Chairman of the Board of Xianchu Group Mr. Chen Kun and Director of the SSTC NRS Igor Shevchenko.
«Our cooperation is a powerful merging of invaluable practical experience, advanced technological developments from Ukraine and and the unlimited market potential and financial and economic capabilities of China, that shall ensure the rapid movement of the Sino-Ukrainian Academy on the way to the world championship in field of technology and innovation decommissioning of nuclear facilities», – comments the event the Chairman of the Board of Xianchu Group Mr. Chen Kun.
«The creation of radiation-resistant robotics and the introduction of technologies for the rehabilitation of radioactive contaminated areas are strategic directions for the scientific development of specialists from Ukraine and China, – said Anatoly Nosovskiy, director of the ISP NPP. – The cooperation of Ukrainian scientists having 30 years of experience in elimination consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, as well as the experience of Chinese colleagues who take an active development of reliable robot devices, are of great importance for both our countries».
«The specialists of our company have enormous experience in decommissioning of nuclear power units as well as in radioactive waste management, – says Igor Shevchenko, director of SSTC NRS. – We are ready to share knowledge and experience with our colleagues from China. It is extremely important for us not only to study and extend our own horizons for international cooperation – we are also dedicated to the development and maintenance of high standards in the field of radiation safety in countries all over the world. And if our joint Sino-Ukrainian activities contribute to this, all parties will benefit».
The exposition of the joint enterprise «Sino-Ukrainian Academy Xianchu» visited the first Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Anton Naumovets, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Anatoly Zagorodniy, Chief Scientific Secretary NAS of Ukraine, Academician Vyacheslav Bogdanov, Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine Grigory Plachkov and many other representatives of the state, scientific and the creative community.
