International Scientific Conference «Physics of Liquid Matter: Modern Problems» (PLMMP-2018)
From 18 to 22 May, 2018 the 8-th International Scientific Conference «Physics of Liquid Matter: Modern Problems» (PLMMP-2018) was held at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The conference was organized by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The scientific program covered recent developments in the broader field of liquid state including interdisciplinary problems. Format of the conference was based on invited lectures, speech presentations and poster presentations. The language of the conference is English.
More than 100 participants from 20 countries of the world took part in the conference. Scientists from the Institute for Safety Problems of NPP, NAS of Ukraine made three reports:
- «Modeling of structural relaxation in the glass transition of polymer nanocomposites filled with carbon nanotubes» R. Dinzhos, N. Fialko, Ju. Sherenkovskiy, N. Meranova, R. Navrodskaya, V. Makhrovskiy.
- «CFD modeling of pseudocritical transitions of supercritical water flowing in channels» N. Fialko, A. Nosovskiy, Ju. Sherenkovskiy, V. Prokopov, T. Vlasenko, N. Meranova, S. Alioshko, I. Sharaevskiy, L. Zimin, S. Stryzheus.
- «Radiation in fluence on the temperature-dependent parameters of fluids: theory and computer simulation» Leonid Bulavin, Kostyantyn Cherevko, Dmytro Gavryushenko, Volodymyr Sysoev, Tetiana Vlasenko.
On 22 May a workshop of scientific section «Radiation aspects of the physics of liquids and liquid systems contained in the alive organisms» within the frameworks of the conference PLMMP-2018 was conducted. This workshop was headed by academician of NAS of Ukraine, head of the Molecular Physics Department of Kyiv National University – Leoinid Anatoliyovych Bulavin and corr. memb. of NAS of Ukraine, director of the Institute for Safety Problems of NPP, NAS of Ukraine – Anatolii Volodymyrovych Nosovskyi. Workshop was devoted to discussing the recent results of the studies of the radiation influence on liquids and liquid systems as well as to the studies of the changes in liquid systems contained in the alive organisms caused by irradiation.
During the workshop there was a meeting of the participants of the scientific section and specialists of the ISP NPP, where further cooperation was discussed. There was also organized a visit to Pripyat, Chornobyl and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant for the participants of the workshop.
