Expert Commission on efficiency assessment of work activity in the ISP NPP finished its work
In September 2017 the Expert Commission on efficiency assessment of work activity conducted its work at the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine assessing its work activity, achievements and potential within the period from 2012 to 2016. Commission was established on August 14, 2017 due to the protocol No. 3 of the Standing Committee on Scientific Areas for the purpose of assessment efficiency of work activities of institutions of the Section for Physico-technical and Mathematical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences Ukraine. Assessment was carried out according to the criteria defined by the Assessment Methodology that applied by the Decree of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine No. 75, dated March 15 , 2017. The assessment was conducted for the first time.

To the work of the Commission as invitee from administration of the ISP NPP were involved: prof. Nosovskyi A.V., Director of the ISP NPP, corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine, D.E.; Scherbin V.M., Deputy Director on Science, Ph.D.; Shevtsova O.M., Academic Secretary, Ph.D. (Phys.-Math.); Krasnov V.O., Head of the Department ; Sizov A.O., Acting Head of the Department, Ph.D. and Borisenko V.I., head of department, Ph.D.
On September 26, within the assessment, the experts visited the office and laboratory premises of the ISP NPP in Chornobyl. After introduction of the members of Expert Commission, the invitee from administration of the ISP NPP, and familiarizing with the work schedule, there were held discussions on the materials submitted to the Commission. There were observed Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety and Department for Design Objects with Radiation and Nuclear Technology, as well as individual interview with directorate of Institute, heads of departments and other staff.
On September 27, there were observed premises of the Kyiv Department of Atomic Power Engineering of the Institute, familiarization with its activities and interview with its staff.
On October 2, the Commission Chairman Slisenko V.I. held the meeting and final discussions with representatives of administration of the ISP NPP and approved the Conclusion of the Expert Commission. Based on results of the analysis of attestation case on assessment of the Institute functioning, familiarization with activities of its scientific departments and the SWOT analysis, the Expert Commission assessed the Institute’s activity as an effective one, entering it to the research institutions of the category “A”, and formulated recommendations for improving its activities.
